Your Elk River eyecare center offers genuine eye care where your eye health and wellness is our primary focus. Annual eye exams are a recommended cornerstone for ensuring the health of your eyes. In addition to checking for changes in your vision and updating your prescription, we will also look at your overall eye health, internally and externally. Prevention and early detection are keys to maintaining healthy eyes, as some eye health issues have no immediate symptoms but can still cause damage if left untreated. Since 2007, I have been providing optometric care in the Northwest metro area. Prior to that I served as an active-duty Air Force optometrist. I am dedicated to building relationships with patients and reconnecting every year offering personalized care. I have a special interest in treating dry eye and providing same-day urgent eye care. Proficient in American Sign Language, I take pride in serving the deaf community. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, exercising, biking, and podcasts.

I am a dedicated primary care optometrist with a passion for providing comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages. I value building long term relationships with patients, focusing on personalized care to meet the unique needs of each individual. I am committed to ensure that every patient has ample time during their visit to ask questions and fully understand their eye health. Whether it is addressing routine vision concerns, finding you the right pair of glasses for your visual needs, or treating complex eye disease such as dry eye, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma or macular degeneration, I am dedicated to improving the health and overall well-being of every patient. I earned my B.S. in Biology from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA in 2009 and went on to earn my Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 2013. My passion is using my skills and experience to better serve the vision, ocular health and quality of life for residents of the St. Cloud area.

Dr. Mark Korthals
Dr. Mark Korthals grew up in Northwestern Iowa and obtained his optometry degree at The Illinois College of Optometry in 2004. Dr. Korthals resides in Mound with his wife, Lisa, who has her Masters in Theology, is an author and founder of a non-profit Help for All, and daughters, Lexi and Ashley. He enjoys anything sports related and spending time with his family.
