  At Dawn of Discovery, your infant will have a blast and develop critical skills at the same time! Our infant staff is certified in CPR and First Aid and trained in Abusive Head Trauma and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. When it comes to infant care, our staff is loving, patient and very experienced. As your little one goes from crawling to taking their first steps, we will work hard to meet their needs and help them develop. Our infant schedule includes floor and tummy time, bouncy and bumbo seat time, art projects, basic sign language, reading books, indoor and outdoor playtime, singing, listening to music, naptime, caring interaction, and much more. Each day’s agenda is planned to promote language development, fine and gross motor skills, sensory stimulation and social skills. Our goal is to prepare your infant for the toddler stage through a variety of interaction and learning activities. Dawn of Discovery keeps parents in the loop via the Daily Connect smartphone app. Available for infants, toddlers and preschool, our staff will track your children's daily needs and activities.   Waddlers (12 months- 18 months)

  This room is the perfect transition from infants to toddlers. Your child will learn to walk and run, sit on chairs at the table for meals and activities and sleep on cots. Our Waddler teachers and aides have extensive childcare experience and are certified in CPR and First Aid. When it comes to taking care of your little one, our staff is equipped with love, patience and childcare experience. From morning drop-off to evening pick-up, we promise to meet your child’s needs and keep them active and engaged. Daily activities focus on sharing, using words, active moving and interaction with peers and teachers. Our goal is to ready your waddler for toddlers by promoting communication, sharing and basic life skills. The Dawn of Discovery Waddler classroom is equipped with the Daily Connect smartphone app to communicate with parents throughout the day.   Preschool (3 Years - 4 Years)

  The transition from toddlers to preschool can be a challenge for any child. However, Dawn of Discovery’s curriculum equips preschoolers with the confidence and educational background they need to make the jump with ease! In addition to CPR and First Aid certification, our preschool teachers are trained in early childhood education and create original lesson plans to fit their classes. Dawn of Discovery integrates fitness and peer interaction into the curriculum for a well-rounded preschool experience. Our preschool schedule includes: weekly physical fitness class, basic reading and writing, basic math, games and puzzles, science projects, art projects, indoor and outdoor playtime, rest time, caring interaction, and more. The purpose of our daily preschool activities is to improve social skills and physical fitness while laying the foundation for each school subject. We incorporate individual and teacher-directed activities to prepare your preschooler for the world of kindergarten. Dawn of Discovery’s preschool curriculum will help your child learn how to write via the ez Write™ program. Used by the Elk River School District, ez Write™ is an effective and engaging handwriting program that accommodates different learning styles.   Pre-Kindergarten (4 - 5 years)

  Dawn of Discovery offers a well-rounded pre-kindergarten program to prepare children for kindergarten. Each day your child will partake in key elements that contribute to kindergarten readiness. Our EZ Write Handwriting Curriculum is introduced in our preschool program and continues through our pre-kindergarten program. We ensure the eight basic strokes are taught to form letters and numbers. Our Creative Curriculum provides an enhanced curriculum that guarantees your child meets all the cognitive, emotional, motor, and social skills. We also offer a variety of daily opportunities to make sure your child is provided individual learning times as well as group learning times. We incorporate literacy, science, social studies, mathematics, and the arts all as part of daily curriculum. Our program also focuses on helping build emotional, social, and motor skills. We provide time for play for children to develop the skills to get along with others, play, share, take turns and participate in activities. Curiosity and interest in learning is significant in a child's learning experience. Our pre-kindergartners are also able to master skills like using scissors properly and holding a pencil correctly to draw and color, beyond simple scribbles. We also help develop work and cognitive skills. It is extremely important for children to learn skills such as waiting and staying on task. We understand these work skills and strive to incorporate these goals throughout the year. We stress the important of keeping hands, arms, and feet to ourselves when working and playing with others. Dawn of Discovery also believes in children learning and retaining materials that are required in kindergarten. We want our pre-kindergartners to be able to recognize their name and letters in their own name as well as recognize letters of the alphabet.
